Echo ("we", "our", "the app") is built on a simple principle: your thoughts are yours. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and what we don't touch.
Everything you write, record, or tag in Echo is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure storage. Notes, voice recordings, moods, tags, and preferences never leave your device unless you explicitly enable Cloud Sync (Echo Pro).
Voice-to-text uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition (iOS 17+). Audio is processed on your iPhone and never sent to our servers or third parties. Echo does not store raw audio recordings.
If you enable Cloud Sync, your notes are stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud data. You can disable sync at any time in Settings.
Echo Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat (our subscription infrastructure provider). RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user ID and subscription status — never your note content. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
To keep Echo stable, we collect anonymous crash reports via Sentry. These include technical information (device model, iOS version, stack trace) but never your notes, tags, or personal data. You can opt out in Settings → Privacy.
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand feature usage — e.g. which screens are opened. All analytics are anonymous and aggregated. Note content is never logged. You can opt out in Settings → Privacy.
You can delete all Echo data by deleting the app. If you've enabled Cloud Sync, data in iCloud can be removed via iCloud Settings. To request data deletion from RevenueCat or Sentry, email us.
Echo is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in the app.
